Childhood nickname: Togram...yup, it's Margot Backwards and bestowed upon me by my very creative older brother.

Hometown: Jackson Park Chicago, IL. I grew up a few blocks away from the lake which was a dream.

Where was that photo taken? This photo was taken in Delhi, India.

Best yoga experience: A few years ago I took a hatha yoga class in Cannes, France. I asked the instructor to teach the way he normally does in french, even though I'm not fluent, and it was hilarious. I fumbled through the whole thing, following the physical cues from the other students. Every one of the other students was in their 50's, 60's or 70's and substantially more flexible than me. Everyone was very kind and welcoming and the instructor cracked jokes the whole class (most of which I didn't fully understand). It was lovely, enjoyable, humbling, and encouraging. I would love to go back one day!

Worst yoga experience ever: My first hot yoga class. The room was smelly, felt like it was one thousand degrees, the floor was carpeted, I couldn't have been farther away from the door, and at one point I thought I was going to pass out! - Annnd then I went back the next day.

What do you remember about your first yoga class? My first class was on a hockey rink at my university gym. I felt anxious and out of place beforehand, but by the time it ended, a sense of calm and relief.

Yoga Studies/Training: I received my 200hr teaching certification from Tula Yoga Studio in 2018. I am trained in the Hatha and Vinyasa style. Within that, my focus has been teaching trauma-informed yoga, intuitive movement, and creating inclusive spaces.

Guilty pleasure: Chocolate covered anything....and free samples. I'm a sucker for free samples.

Accomplishment of which you are most proud: Five years ago I founded a socially responsible hair company called Woven. Our mission is transparency, quality, authenticity, and providing women who are experiencing involuntary hair loss with subsidized, customized ethically sourced wigs.

Pet Yoga Peeve: When students eschew props.  Props aren't always needed, but they are your friend!

Athletic endeavor that you have always wanted to try but are too intimidated: I want to be good at snowboarding. My body would disagree. It does not compute.

Superpower that Yoga gives you: I'm a perfectionist by nature, and because nothing about my practice is perfect, yoga has taught me acceptance, self-love, and perseverance, which I haven't always had. So to me, that's a superpower!

Five words that your friends and family would use to describe you:  Introverted, kind, energetic, adventurous, passionate.
